The Slave dynasty was the first dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate.

The rulers of Slave dynasty with their timeline:-

1. Qutubuddin Aibek (1206-1210 CE)

2. Iltutmish (1210-1236 CE)

3. Razia Sultan (1236-40)

This dynasty was called the Mamluk dynasty in Urdu. The Slave dynasty was founded by Qutubuddin Aibek who was the slave of Mohammad Ghori. This dynasty was called the slave dynasty because of many rulers of this dynasty for the slaves or the children of slaves. Qutubuddin Aibek built half of Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar was completed by his successor Iltutmish. He also built the Quwwat-Ul-Islam mosque in Delhi.

Qutubuddin Aibek was having literary gems like Hasan Azmi and Mubarak Shah. He died in 1210 when he 
fall down from a horse while playing chowgan. He was succeeded by his son-in-law Iltutmish because the noble didn't accept his son Aramshah to become the king. Iltutmish made Delhi the capital.
