Jim Corbett National Park was the first national park of India. It was established by Jim Corbett. I was established in 1936. The area of this national park is 201 square miles or 521 square kilometers. Scroll down to read more.

About This National Park:-

Tigers can be found in mostly areas of this national park. It is the first and the oldest national park of India.



About Jim Corbett:-

Jim Corbett was born on 25th July, 1875 in Nainital, Uttarakhand. He killed so many man-eating tigers as well as leopards. In this way he saved the life of so many people. He also killed a man-eating tigress (a female tiger) of Champawat who killed 436 people. But, it was also decreasing the species of tigers and leopards.


History of the name of national park :-

This national park was named Hailey national park after the name of William Malcolm Hailey. After the independence it was named Jim Corbett nation park after the name of great hunter Jim Corbett. It was name Jim Corbett National Park because this national park was created by Jim Corbett.
